A steady first half gave way to a commanding second, as LAFC overturned an early deficit to defeat Sporting Kansas City 3–1 at BMO Stadium on Sunday night. The result extends LAFC’s winning streak to 10 matches in all competitions — including nine straight in MLS play. Goals from Eddie Segura, Denis Bouanga, and Olivier Giroud powered the Black & Gold to another strong result at home.

The match opened with both teams trading possession and looking to settle into a rhythm. LAFC gradually took control, pressing higher and applying sustained pressure in the attacking half. Despite their growing dominance, it was Dejan Joveljić of Sporting KC who opened the scoring, finishing off a quick transition.

Rather than letting the momentum shift slip away, LAFC stayed composed and answered before the break. A well-placed corner led to a header from Segura that pulled things level.

In the second half, LAFC took over.

Denis Bouanga delivered a match-winning performance, finishing with a penalty goal and two assists. The winger was electric throughout, drawing fouls, breaking lines, and creating chances. He won and converted the penalty that gave LAFC the lead, then assisted Olivier Giroud’s stoppage-time finish to seal all three points.

The night also marked a personal milestone for veteran Ryan Hollingshead, who made his 300th career MLS appearance — becoming the 71st player in league history to reach this mark.

Call it what it was — a complete, confident performance from a team heating up at exactly the right time. With the FIFA Club World Cup on the horizon, LAFC looks locked in and building toward something bigger.
